This Week at CrossWinds Church
9:00AM 10:30AM 12:00PM
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 12
Better Than Fiction | Week Six
We live in a performance-driven culture where the more powerful you are, the better! What happens when this narrative carries over to our relationship with God? This Sunday, we wrap up our series by challenging this false narrative with Jesus’ words about how God works in our weakness.
Cranberry Sauce (Beyond These Walls)
Meal Packing: Thursday, November 16 & Friday, November 17 | 4:30pm - 8:00pm
Meal Delivery: Saturday, November 18 | 8am - 12pm
It’s the final countdown! This is the last week leading up to our holiday outreach Cranberry Sauce, but it’s not too late to be a part of helping and serving local families in need this holiday season! We are hoping to provide meals for 1,000 families this year to prepare, serve and enjoy in their own homes! You can still be a part by signing up to volunteer your time to set-up, pack, and/or deliver meals one day, November 16-18, or by sponsoring as many families’ meals as you'd like. For a donation of $30, a family of 5 will enjoy a wonderful meal together and enjoy all of the yummy leftovers, too. Donations can be given through the link above and can also be dropped off at the Cranberry Sauce kiosk this Sunday. Read more about Cranberry Sauce on our Beyond These Walls page. Contact Pete Sweetnam with any questions!
Women's Christmas Cookie Exchange & Movie Night (Women's Ministry)
Friday December 1 | 7pm - 9:30pm | Barn Theater
Get in the Spirit of the Season with CrossWinds women at the upcoming Cookie Exchange and Movie Night! Simply bring 5-6 dozen cookies to exchange, a comfy camp chair and a friend! Leave with a variety of treats and a full heart. The movie we'll be watching is The Nativity Story, rated PG. The event is FREE! Register here! Contact Leslie Will for more information.
Knowing Your Design (Spiritual Growth)
Thursday, December 7 | 6:30pm - 8:30pm | Barn Theater
Did you know that you were designed for a unique purpose? God has wired you with unique gifts and passions to serve others in the church community. You are uniquely designed to serve Him in ways that no one else can. As people learn about their gifts and passions and use them to serve the body of Christ, both the servant and the church move toward becoming all God intended them to be. This class is designed to help you explore your spiritual gifts, passions, and personal style so that you can discover your unique DESIGN for an eternal impact. Register here! Contact Jodie Tey for more information!
Small Groups (Community Life)
We love small groups around here and we know that is where you'll discover the 5 life changing attributes we expect to find in every small group: Self Disclosure (the real you) | Application (applying Sunday's message and Biblical truths to our lives) | Accountability (helping each other live the life God has for you) | Guidance (Making choices with scripture, prayer, and wisdom from the group) | Encouragement (Being a cheerleader for one another). Let us help you find the right group. And if you want to find out about leading your own group, let us know! You can find info about Small Groups here. For questions, please contact Carole Taylor.
Form Your Own Small Group (Community Life)
Maybe you have connections with people at work or in your neighborhood. Maybe you serve with people on Sunday mornings that have a lot in common with you. Maybe you’d like to have deeper community with people you’ve met at church events. You don’t have to wait for a group to form, you can do that with people you already know. Head to the Community Life page on our website and click on the Interested in Forming Your Own Group button to learn more.
UpStart (Men's Ministry)
Looking to connect with guys like you in a fun, relaxed environment? CrossWinds UpStart is a new sports-oriented men’s fellowship created to bring our young and “think-they’re-still-young” men together in spirited athletic competition. Sports is a great way to connect so bring you’re A-Game, bad knees, and childhood-professional-sports-dreams-shattered-back-in-the-5th-grade, and gear up for a lot of fun and new friendships!
