Ghost Town: When Jesus Abandoned Religion & Never Looked Back | Week Five
We hope you’ve been enjoying Ghost Town so far! Join us this week as we learn how God’s love transcends all the barriers that divide us.
Are you in need of prayer? Please join our pastoral and elder team at the front of the auditorium at the end of service to pray alongside you.
The Practice: Experience the Goodness of God
October 14, 9:00am - 12:00pm, Church Property, $25
God is love and sees us as the beloved. The Creator of the universe wants to be intimate with us! But how on earth can we draw close if we regard God as harsh and judgmental? Thankfully, God is in fact good! And becoming more aware of God’s goodness can encourage us to be more intimate with God. Join us for an engaging, interactive prayer exercise on the church property in which you will experience and enjoy the goodness of God. Through the spiritual practice of meditation, and by engaging all of our senses, we will tune into God’s goodness and enjoy our standing as friends of God. You can register here. Contact Jodie Tey for questions.
Sunday, October 15, All Service Times
Child Dedication is coming and it’s a celebration we're excited to partner with you in! It's an opportunity to thank God for your child and publicly declare your intentions to raise them in a Christ centered home. In anticipation of this event we ask that each family participate in our Child Dedication breakfast and informational meeting on Sunday Oct. 1st at 10:30am in the Red House (located in The Village behind our Kids Ministry building). Children's Ministry is available for you during the meeting. You can register for Child Dedication here. Contact our Children’s Pastor Danielle Owens for more information.
Tuesday, October 17, 6:30 - 8:00pm, Barn Theater, Free
Curious about CrossWinds? Got questions about who we are? Wondering how to get plugged in? If you answered YES, then we invite you to join us for Backstage Pass. During our time together, you will discover who we are as a church, why we do things the way we do, and how we can help you take the next step in your spiritual journey. You will also have a chance to hang out with our pastors as well as meet others who are looking for opportunities to connect. You can register here. Childcare is available with registration. Questions? Contact Jodie Tey.
Frontline Volunteers Needed!
We have lots of volunteer opportunities available in our frontline ministries: cafe / coffee / connections / medical / security / traffic / ushers - we could use your friendly face! To sign up for one of these areas, please contact our Frontline Coordinator Tiffany Werley. Thanks so much!
COMMUNITY LIFE (FOR ADULTS)
We love small groups around here and we know that is where you'll discover the 5 life changing attributes we expect to find in every small group: Self Disclosure (the real you) | Application (applying Sunday's message and Biblical truths to our lives) | Accountability (helping each other live the life God has for you) | Guidance (Making choices with scripture, prayer, and wisdom from the group) | Encouragement (Being a cheerleader for one another). Let us help you find the right group. And if you want to find out about leading your own group, let us know! You can find info about Small Groups here. For questions, please contact Carole Taylor.
-FORM YOUR OWN SMALL GROUP-
Maybe you have connections with people at work or in your neighborhood. Maybe you serve with people on Sunday mornings that have a lot in common with you. Maybe you’d like to have deeper community with people you’ve met at church events. You don’t have to wait for a group to form, you can do that with people you already know. Head to the Community Life page on our website and click on the Interested in Forming Your Own Group button to learn more.
-MEN’S GROUPS / EVENTS-
Stay tuned for future events!

The Village Mom's Group
Wednesdays, Bi-weekly, 9:30 - 11am, Classroom 5, $20
The Village is a group of moms like you who desire a safe place to be themselves and a break from the "joys" of motherhood. We gather around refreshments to learn from speakers and engage in meaningful conversation with a book study. This season we will be tracking with the next sermon series and reading/discussing, "The Good and Beautiful God" by James Bryan Smith. Occasionally, we'll throw a craft or an activity like yoga into the mix. Join us for the fun! You can register here. $20 for book and supplies. Contact Leslie Will for more information. Childcare available for an additional fee.
These are groups for those who have identified specific needs and want to work on them within a group setting. The groups are a place for open, honest and supportive interaction with others dealing with the same issues. We currently offer groups for Divorce Care, Understanding Anger, Betrayal CareGrief Support, Healing Tears (Post-Abortion Support), More groups will be coming this fall. We also have an Alcoholics Anonymous for Young People that meets at our church. You can find more information about the groups on our website HERE.

Kairos Torch Weekend Retreat
Friday, October 27 - Sunday, October 29, 2017
The Kairos Torch program is a unique opportunity for individuals to actually minister inside prisons to youth who are incarcerated. The Torch experience begins with a weekend retreat in a youth detention center or correctional facility for youth ages 25 and under. The mission is to engage their reasoning skills in seeking balance for their lives. A Kairos Torch Weekend creates a safe place for the youthful offender to realize their God-given potential through the mentoring of a mature, Christian volunteer. Torch is always looking for people who are interested in mentoring these youth and who are willing to pray for this ministry. The next Kairos Torch weekend will be Friday, October 27 thru Sunday, October 29, 2016. If you are interested in helping with this ministry or event please contact Tom & Jo Chapman.
FOR OUR KIDS
The mission of CrossWinds Kids is to partner with families to help kids KNOW God, LOVE others and REFLECT Jesus in their everyday life. We offer services for kids Birth-5th grade each Sunday in The Barn at 9am, 10:30am, & 12pm.
LEVEL-UP (4th - 5th grade)
Sundays @ 9am & 12pm
Visit us online or contact Danielle Owens
Level-Up helps 4th and 5th graders to take their next steps forward as disciples of Jesus. Our goal is to prepare them for life as a student after elementary school. We do this by challenging them and raising the bar relationally and theologically. These young "tweens" are more than capable of drawing closer to Christ and to each other in community prior to their jr. high days. Level-Up will serve to supercharge their faith and their friendships moving forward.
FOR OUR YOUTH
